Arrived in Minneapolis after an easy drive.  I’m at the hotel now.  I’ve spoken to one offspring and two grandchildren.  All is well.

Since I can’t sell my Vegas house in the current market, it’s up for rent.  Thanks to BJ, Anne Gray, and Neil for much helping in getting into shape to rent out.  The Craigs List ad is here.

The other day I was listening to a movie review on NPR.  I don’t know what the movie was, but the reviewer, in the course of panning it, explained that some secondary characters, however good, just don’t make good leads.  He said, “Some really terrific supporting players maybe aren’t cut out to be stars. A ‘Romeo and Juliet’ spinoff called Mercutio and the Nurse wouldn’t cut it.”

WHAT????  Like Hell it wouldn’t!

Special Brust Ego-Gratification Issue, on account of, you know, my ego is so desperately in need of gratification.

Reesa is recovering from surgery.  Part of the recovery process has involved some household rearranging that made it impossible for me to write.  Reesa and Nathan, while dealing with everything else, put enough effort into the problem that it’s now been solved, and I’m back to writing.  That she took the trouble to fix this (with, by the way, no help from me) under these conditions is, um, impressive seems too weak.

Anyway, Tiassa is humming along; I hope to have a completed first draft within a couple of weeks.  Those who didn’t want to wait an extra six months or so for it should thank Reesa and Nathan.
