Contest Redux

Just wanted to mention that I still haven’t gotten 17 emails.  A signed personalized copy of Jhegaala will go to the 17th person who offers to send me a copy of Colin Turnbull’s The Forest People.

  1. So, we just have to offer, we don’t actually have to send you anything?

And I take it your author copies arrived. Yay!

  2. Yes. All you have to do is offer to win the contest. Of course, winning the contest doesn’t involve sending you anything; just telling you that you win. To actually *receive* the book…

  3. Hm.

Offer submitted. I normally don’t do contests… because well… I’m pretty lazy. And if I offer to do something I always feel like I have to do it. And so I tend not to offer to do things at all.

But I’ll make an exception in this case. Heh.

  4. Not sure where to post this, but out of curiousity, how would I maximize actual income to you when purchasing my copy of Jhegaala? My assumption is roughly that by buying an ebook from mobipocket, sony, or whoever, I create the least overhead and thus make sure the author gets paid more… (OTOH, many ebooks are automatically priced at significantly less than print copies — Amazon’s kindle books, for instance — so maybe doing so isn’t optimal?)
