Narrativity!

WHEREAS I have an inexhaustible appetite for sitting around with people and talking about the craft of writing, and
WHEREAS It turns out I’m not the only one with this peculiarity, and
WHEREAS That’s a good thing, because it’s hard to have these conversations by myself, and
WHEREAS I am obviously insane,

THEREFORE Be it resolved that, god help me, we’re launching a convention. Small, craft-oriented, single-track programming, here in Minneapolis, July 12-14 of this year. I’m doing the programming, Jane Hawkner is onboard for the web site, Liz Vogel is running the thing. Take a look, see if you want to make it there, or even help us make the thing a go. And, if you’re so inclined, help spread the word about this gobbler.  Also, let me know if there are any obvious errors on the web site, or anything missing that ought to be there.  Thanks!

Here’s a link to the location and other relevant information.

  1. So are rooms really already sold out for Sunday night? I am unlikely to be able to attend, but on a whim I did just go start checking on flights and rooms and such, and well, no Sunday rooms left does it make somewhat less appealing to come from out of town.

  2. @kelly – No, far as I know, rooms should be available for Sunday. I’ll contact the hotel and see what’s up.

  3. The hotel issue should be fixed now; I just ran through a request for Friday-Sunday nights, and it shows both king and 2-double rooms available.

If anyone has any further difficulties with hotel reservations, please let me know.

  4. OK I’ve registered. Who’s in charge of marketing for this thing? I’ve got some ideas.

  5. Wow, this is amazing! The website looks great and the programming incredible. I really hope this becomes an annual thing as baby #2 is due July 10 so this year is sadly out for me. Just wanted to say hooray and thank you and good luck!

  6. Hi, good luck with the convention. Sounds great! Off topic question, is there another Vlad book possible at some future date? Thanks
