…that Steve is too shy to tell you about himself — Jhegaala’s first printing has already sold out and gone to reprints.
p.s. Watch Dr. Horrible today. Tell your friends.
Correction: PNH very nicely wrote to me to say that what has happened is that actually orders from bookstores exceeded the initial amount printed, and Jhegaala has been reprinted to meet this demand. This does not actually mean the first printing has ’sold out’, as many of those copies will still be returned from bookstores. It’s still good news, but not as straightforward as I let on.

Whee! (I couldn’t afford it, but bought one anyway. And also a copy of Bear’s Ink and Steel.) Looks like, if titles will follow the cycle, there are seven books to go? Of course, he can also add non-cycle titles, such as Taltos, and I won’t complain…

Hurray! Congrats! That’s awesome! (That very book kept me up very late last night. I anticipate the same affliction tonight. Oh no!)

I see Captain Hammer as a bad guy, even though he’s handsome.
I’m all for Dr. Horrible.

Yeah… I hope we get to see some future episodes with the whole Bad Horse League of Evil.
Careful of spoilers here though, I haven’t made Reesa or Steve watch it yet. :)

Rubs hands with glee!!!!! I actually bought two copies — one for me to read till it falls apart and the second to replace the first when the inevitable happens. You are a rare author, not only have you achieved hardback status you fall into the rare “buy two right away since you know you will read it to death” category.

@Glenda#1: Steve has said/written that the plan is one book for each member of the cycle, plus _Taltos_, plus _The Final Contract_ (IIRC). Of course, he could change his mind.

I happened to be in Brooklyn on July 8 and went to the B&N on 7th Ave. and 6th St. there, hoping to find copies, but really not expecting to. Well, there on a shelf that holds new hardbacks facing forward, usually in stacks of four or five, I found one copy! That means that probably at least three had been sold that day alone. I wanted two, however, the second for my daughter who had had a baby two weeks earlier, not to mention her husband, also a Vlad fan. So I asked a clerk and she looked around, not finding any more. We headed towards the escalator to leave and, just as my wife and I were about to mount it, the clerk came running up to us with a second copy and explained that had found more in boxes in the stock room and gave one to us (well, not give, exactly) and was about to restock the shelves.
So it would not surprise me at all if the first printing really has sold out.

Congrats on the publishing and sales news.
I am glad to see other Dr. Horrible fans out there. I hope Steve and Reesa also post what they think.

Dr Horrible was lots of fun and ended just as you would expect any Joss Whedon written romance to. I can’t wait for the DVD.
Congrats to Steve on the publishing news on Jhegaala. For me though it is my least liked
book in the series. Endless lamb stew, bad coffee and no Dragaerans wasn’t any more fun for me than it was for Vlad. Made me appreciate Dzur all the more though.

What I found interesting about the local B&N was that they’d stocked up on Issola. Do sales of a new hardback normally pump up sales of the prior volume’s paperback?
Of course, the B&N had also taken the clearly intuitive step of putting the Jhegalla hardback in a completely different part of the store from the Brust section in Sci-Fi/Fantasy…

Slickriptide @16
The B&N reference just caused me to realize that when I was at my local Borders last night that I spent several minutes organizing the books of the authors I love. This visit included sorting Robin Hobb and skzb. Am I the only one who feels the need or to “fix” the bookshelves?
As an extra annoyance they had a recommendation card for Hobbs (great!) but it displayed the series in the following order: Liveship Traders (2nd), Tawny Man (3rd), and Farseer (1st). I opted not to pull out a sharpie and correct it.
