We’d hoped to make a post before we left, but the last 24 hours have been extremely hectic ones at the Dream Café. We tried, and failed to finish our move from Slutbarn into the new Dream Café — we’ll be finishing it up after the con. After not a lot of sleep we ran around like mad monkeys this morning attempting to get moving and on the road.
But Steve, Reesa and I made it out of the house with the help of Jennifer and the four of us began our road trip. After a stop off in Waco to pick up Anne we flew like the wind to Dallas to drop me off for my flight. Flying is better for my health than the drive would be, so I am already in Minneapolis while the others are still on their way in the Jheregmobile. They are scheduled to arrive in the wee hours of Thursday morning.
It’s my first visit to the Minneapolis area and I am excited to be here. I loved looking at all the lakes as our plane landed, and I love how green it is here. The landscape and flora remind me of the parts of Connecticut where I grew up, a nice bit of nostalgia.
Fourth Street starts on Friday night. I’m staying overnight with Steve’s old friend Sara, in her lovely house in St. Paul. She’s made me feel instantly at home, and we’re off to dinner in an hour or so. In the meantime I think I’ll catch up on LJ and take a much-needed shower and change into fresh clothes. I may be a hippie but I needn’t be a dirty one…

Good vibes for the members traveling by car. May they stick to the dry ground and have a safe trip.
Enjoy Fourth Street. Sounds like fun.

“I may be a hippie but I needn’t be a dirty one…”
This reminds me of a fat friend/ex-boyfriend of mine who always corrects people when the term “fat slob” comes up in conversation. “Please,” he will say, “fat snappy dresser.” Or, “Fat extremely tidy person.”
