Jhegaala Auction Ends Today

May 18th, 2008 by kit · 16 Comments

A reminder to those interested: The auction of the signed proof of Steve’s new novel, Jhegaala, ends today. Good luck to those who have been bidding on it. For all you other eager readers, the novel itself will be out July 8.

As mentioned in the comments previously, we’re going to restrict discussion of the book on this blog until the release date, at which time we’ll put up a special spoiler thread for detailed discussion. I really look forward to discussing this book with some of Steve’s other fans when the time comes. :)

Whew. Nice to know Steve has such devoted fans.

Yeah–$805! I’m feeling much better about getting the unsigned one for $106.

Y’know… My man (over my shoulder) wants to suggest that signed copies of the already published books are also coveted items, and he’d be very willing to buy them. Although maybe not for $800+ *grin*

Supporting a favourite author is very much something he’d be willing to do.

(His screen-name is Vilmos - when we started dating, he handed me “the Brokedown Palace” and said ‘If you don’t like this book, we don’t have much of a future.’ I loved it - still do.)

    Holy crap.

lynedd @ 3: Thank much. It’s nice to hear about that one.

    You’re very welcome. “>

I seem to be a slightly off-kilter fan; I enjoy the Dragaera novels, and have read them all, but my favourite stories by far are “Gypsy” and “the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars.” I’ve also been known to quote from “Cowboy Feng’s Space Bar and Grille.”

…and now I shall shut my inner fan-girl back into her box, and carry on like a normal, non-scareystalker person *wink*

lynedd@3&5: Selling signed copies online is definitely one of our longterm plans. Hopefully its someting we can implement not long after the move.

And actually, the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars is my favorite of Steve’s work as well.

    Steve
I second the comment that signed copies of your books would be worth something on ebay/ for sale/ etc. though I’m not sure how one might go about doing that. We all know you’ve got fans that wouldn’t mind contributing to The Cause for a personalized signed book or three! ;-)

And Gods know that *some* people might even be willing to participate in an auction for a ‘guest appearance’ as a walk on minor character in some upcoming work…

Wow, $805, now that is a tidy sum. Congrats to both the buyer and Steve.

lynedd @ 5: LOL, shutting away the inner fangirl, I know the feeling. I am always asking myself “is this too fanboy?” before posting stuff. I actually just deleted a line of this paragraph because I thought it was too fanboy. LOL.

Andrew @ 7: Something like “Here is your klava Sir, my name is Goat, I’ll be your waiter today”? LOL.

    Actually, I typo’d the amount–it’s $820. Sorry about that.

  • 10 Vxx // May 19, 2008 at 12:24 am

    I just hope Andrew@7 likes his $820 present….

    ;-)

Andrew @ 7 AGAIN: I just noticed that you said “Gods”, you dirty, little polytheist you. LOL. I know it’s horribly off topic, but I was curious, do you worshiped a specific pantheon?

  • 12 Jason // May 19, 2008 at 6:29 am

Wow. Nice sum. Last I looked with about 24 minutes to go it was $405. Now that’s escalation.

  • 13 Andrew // May 19, 2008 at 8:59 pm

Goat @ 11… only the Lords of Judgement.. :-)

  • 14 Bawrence // May 20, 2008 at 5:31 am

I’ve finished reading my copy, excellent work as always, mr. Brust.

Call me Steve. I mean, as long as you liked it.

    Hee hee.

    (Thanks by the way)
