On April 29 (coincidentally my 30th birthday), Albert Hofmann died at 102, his age a testament to the preservative action of LSD on the human body. I want to take a moment to honor him for his contribution to humanity (including one of the most famous bicycle rides ever). If you are unfamiliar with this great psychedelic pioneer, perhaps you’d like to read more about him? Happily for psychonauts, much of his writing is available online, including his classic book LSD: My Problem Child. He will be missed here on earth, but the great teacher he gave us lives on.

“Albert Hofmann Died On My Birthday” sounds a bit like a short story title. Definitely one you could write. I think there needs to be more Hofmann homages in fiction, don’t you? *pointed, hinting look*

Now there is someone who made a contribution to humanity. My goodness. I wish I’d had the chance to hear him speak.

And barring anything else, even if it is OT – Happy (belated) Birthday!
