Speaking of RPGs… for (for old school) Mage fans

April 1st, 2008 by kit · 8 Comments

I figured I’d use my soapbox here to try to dispose of some digital property I no longer want.

I adore Mage: the Ascension, the old World of Darkness roleplaying game from White Wolf. A number of years ago I registered dreamspeakers.net, which I used for the gaming stuff I was posting online. I don’t plan to use it anymore, and it expires in a couple days. I’m ethically opposed to letting domains get snapped up by squatters though, so I don’t want to just let it go.

If there’s anyone out there who has a (preferably gaming-related) use for this domain and is willing to pay the $10 or so annually to keep it alive, then let me know.

No use myself, but I’d be happy to PayPal you a ‘donation’ to keep it in your own name for another year or three.

Drop me a line with your payment email and I’ll knock it out.

Disclaimer: I work for eBay, which owns PayPal, but this is completely my own idea and has nothing to do with them. yada yada yada. Whatever else seems appropriate at 3:24AM.

If no one else wants the domain I’ll take you up on your generous offer. Thanks.

Well, I was just talking about getting domain space for a webcomic- and my roommate has been talking about running a Mage game. Is that close?

If you are looking to have it go to a WhiteWolf game, we are looking for a new domain for our Mage/Werewolf crossover game to go. Let us know where to pay.

Or if you prefer, I am visiting with Mage author and developer Phil Brucato tonight and am happy to check and see if he would like it. (His livejournal handle is satyrblade if you want to contact him directly.)

So you’re saying you want to keep the domain out of the hands of the Technocracy?

Ben@5: Yes, by all means. If I don’t hear back from you I’ll ask him myself. He’s obviously the first call for this.

josh@6: Indeed. Domain squatters are obviously a plot of the Syndicate to undermine the Adepts…
