Polonius: What do you read, my lord?
Hamlet: Words, words, words.
–Hamlet: Act 2, Scene 2
Words Words Words is the new Dream Cafe household weblog, operated by three writers living together — Steven Brust, Reesa Brown, and Kit O’Connell. Now that we’re sharing a home in meatspace, we decided to invite a few thousand of our closest friends to join us in our new, virtual living room as we discuss, argue, and debate whatever is on our mind. We’ll be talking about politics, writing, and all kinds of other random things that we feel like ranting about.
Welcome!

Congrats for escaping from LJ! I look forward to the new dynamic (plus, I’ve never followed Reesa or Kit before, so that will also be interesting).
I’m a little bummed that the RSS feed for the new blog only displays summaries. I do most of my blog reading through a feed reader (I don’t always have time to follow through to the originating site), but now I will always be forced to click through if I want to read the whole post.
Any chance you can change the RSS feed settings to show the whole post instead of just summaries?

Wow, this very exciting. New home, new people. Good for the soul. Your license plate hangs on the wall not three feet from where I write this.
Best wishes to you, Reesa and Kit!

more fun and interesting stuff for me to read, and ways to keep up with you!
*hugs*
Thanks for inviting us!

Thanks for setting up the LJ feed - I just can’t track things other places if I keep up on there. Congrats on the move.

I just decided that I really love the word “meatspace.” I’ll look like Rain Man repeating it to myself all day.

Yay! No more annoying eternal “You are about to view content that may only be appropriate for adults.” messages!
Plus this new place looks really spiffy. Thank you!

Is it deliberate that the articles here do not attribute authorship to any specific one of you? I would read them all, regardless, but I like to know who said what…

Alex:7:: Okay, that’s strange. A few hours ago, it showed who wrote it. Now it doesn’t. Kit will look at that when he gets up and get it working again, I’m sure. Thanks for pointing it out.

For diagnostic purposes: It says who wrote it on the main page, but not on the individual post pages.

1: Sandy — Nice to meet you. We can change the RSS feed if we choose too. I see your point about clicking through and I’ll check with the others before updating.
2: Well met, zizban!
3: Good to have you here, Shan.:D
4: Star Straf: Yes I understand, even though I now participate in several wordpress blogs, either through operating them or writing in them, I still keep up with the whole blogosphere via my LJ friends page. If they don’t have an RSS feed it’s hard to remember they even exist…

Jason @ 5: Meatspace! MEAT space! Space meat!
Sander @ 6: Wow yeah that was irritating. I think I’ve actually fixed Steve’s LJ so it won’t do that anymore, but in any case LJ was becoming less friendly every day …
7-10: Thanks for pointing out the problem. I have fixed this on the individual posts now. Since we’re just moving in there’s probably a few more quirks to be discovered and I appreciate our readers pointing them out. :)
Thanks again for everyone visiting our new blog!

Sandy @ 1: I have put full summaries into the RSS feed. Looking into adding something which shows which author wrote which post as well.

As another RSS feed reader the change is hugely appreciated. Thanks.
